How to have a virtual date and actually enjoy it

Due to the current quarantine, most people are unable to go out and date someone in reality. But it doesn’t mean you have to be alone. I’ve summarized a list of great ideas for you to consider – you can have virtual dates that are actually enjoyable!

· Truth or Dare

When you are on a dating app, instead of chatting with someone endlessly, why not play a game called Truth or Dare with them?! For example, Truth: When did you last hug someone? Dare: Show me what’s in your fridge now!

· A 2-person Netflix party

This is a new thing: Netflix has already taken their Netflix and Chill to the next level with this very cool idea. That means now you can watch a TV show or a movie with another person online while chatting on the computer screen at the same time.

· A 2-person book club

Select a book that you both like and read it at the same time. Choose a date to finish it by & organize an online book club (don’t forget wine and cheese)! This is even better than a two-person Netflix party because a book club encourages you to have more in-depth and intelligent conversations with a like-minded individual.

· The art of sexting

Sexting has become more and more commonplace nowadays, partly because the current quarantine makes people stay home, and partly because a growing number of individuals are very open-minded in this day and age. If you are keen to master the art of sexting, I have some useful tips for you:

1) Understand that this is also a relationship. Basically, it means the person you are interacting with online should build an emotional connection with you. It’s not 100% entertainment. A real relationship is the foundation of an enjoyable online dating experience.

2) Have some body confidence. Sexting makes you face your reality – it’s time to overcome your insecurities and build your body positivity. Feeling good is your job!

3) Your safety is paramount. When you send sexts to someone on the Internet, there are some principles that you should be aware of. First of all, make sure your face and your private parts do not appear in the same photo. Second, you should only sext someone that you trust, so it’s not a good idea to start sexting a stranger on the first virtual date (maybe after having several virtual dates with someone you like, you can begin to sext them). Last but not least, don’t give away your private information such as your address – I know this is common sense, but it’s very important to emphasize this key point!
